Extremely touchpad unfriendly

Additionally, some computers (like mine) have a good deal of input delay with the mouse. I tested it one time and it was somewhere around the order of .2 seconds.

Oh well, I still got "above average". Next time use the keyboard.

I guess I'm the only one who's noticed this

Let's say I have a spring on the very left and a turret on the ceiling above it. I hit go, it does its thing, and flakboy ends up on the right side of the screen. So I put a mine where he lands and what happens? He never even gets to it. He ends up in the middle. You need to fix that bug bigtime, because as it is it's basically impossible to plot out a systematic chamber because every time you add something, the entire thing changes for no reason. I don't know how it got past testing, because I noticed it in the first level.

If you fix that crap the game would probably be one of my favorites. But as it is it's just blind luck.

Close to great

It's a fun idea. It just feels unfinished.

For one, some of the levels were ridiculously hard solely because of the perspective. It's so weird. In half the levels I had absolutely no idea what was going on in the Z axis. This leaves running up to something and hoping it's tall enough, which sometimes it isn't.

And for that matter, why does your guy stand there like a moron for a second before crouching behind low cover? If you could toggle crouch that would be...better.

Some of the levels relied on stupid crap, such as standing behind an enemy and teleporting as he turns around. Those could be removed.

And finally, the boss. What a terrible idea. I got to him and just quit. I know if I spent awhile figuring out when he stops using his psychic powers to turn towards me wherever I am, but I just don't want to. I'd rather keep sneaking. I know MGS had them, but they sucked in MGS too.

DUDE TAKE IT EASY

A pretty high-quality april fool's joke. Wasn't expecting it.

For those of you interested in what's AFTER the bird, search youtube for Jim The Worm Secrets. I'm uploading a video as we speak. I don't know why, but I feel compelled to see what happens if you prevent the unpreventable in games. It's not too interesting, but hey.

Kembry responds:

HAHA, video about what happens after that, it could be interesting.
Great idea,
Becouse no one sad that he is dead, it just looked like he died.
But we don`t know.

Hahaha, I saw video Iw as laughting , yes it is funny to catch bugs in the game.
Thank you for video :D

Not so much hard as poorly-coded

Which I guess would qualify as hard, in the same way that beating Ooze from Action 52 is hard. The fact that your character slides off of square platforms is both obnoxious and a bad idea, though given the other myriad hitbox issues I have a feeling it wasn't your intention. It was fun until I had to start jumping on platforms a single cell wide, which demands near perfection. No thanks.

Untested

The concept is great, as are most of the levels. But I can't give a high score to a game that requires 100% luck to get more than halfway through. But more on that later.

It starts off on a bad, bad, very very bad note: level 1-1. It's nearly impossible. You have JUST enough bullets to clear it, and that's only if you aim perfectly and get very lucky with bounces. It takes an eternity, and it's really not that fun lining up shots and then waiting for them to fall off the screen over and over.

Once you get to 1-2, though, the game picks way the hell up. Suddenly the game becomes fun. You get all sorts of cool ammo like scatter, big, weird...square explosion blast. And the designs are neat and challenging.

But then comes level 2-3. It's horrible. It makes level 1-1 look like any level that is neither 1-1 nor 2-3. For one, the concept is flawed: hope your shots bounce the right way. Unless you're a Terminator or enjoy doing hours of math in your spare time, there's no way you'll know if you're going to win unless you've already done it. You just have to shoot into a column and hope for the best.

But that's not the worst part, not by a long shot. The worst part is when your shots just phase through the metal blocks, completely wasting them. And it doesn't just happen sometimes, it happens ALL THE TIME. The hit detection is horrendous. Get to 2-3 and shoot a few reverse gravity shots into an empty column and you'll invariably see what I mean.

Thus, I cannot complete the game without hoping to god none of my shots bug out, which at least one always does. And I just don't have the patience to redo a level over and over just because it was coded poorly.

The trash can was the worst part

I seriously though the trash can was a door. It's like as tall as a person and looks EXACTLY like a service door. Maybe make that more clear. And also make the hitbox for the final boss about 5 times bigger. I clicked right where I should have but nothing happened because of the tiny little register zone.

Fun but severely flawed

Things that bugged the hell out of me:

-Having to press the up button for exactly .00001 picoseconds to do a short jump
-Rubbing against the sides of spikes kills you
-Sometimes gravity would not switch when I told it to, killing me

Aside from that it was pretty fun. The "get through the game without dying" medal is like a joke, but the rest of them are doable. Plus the game is just the right length so that playing through it twice isn't brain-explodingly boring.

Oh my god I'm the highlander

Apparently I'm the only person on earth with a computer that can handle a small amount of particle physics. Makes you wonder how modern PC games keep getting released. I didn't lag at all, on high quality.

Overall it would be better without the 5000 4chan fads, and the "hey everybody look what I just learned in school today" jokes. It was like playing xkcd: the game. But since that's what's popular, you really have no reason to pay heed to my opinion. Kudos.

How to get Heart Breaker

First, fantastic game. Easily my favorite game on NG. It reminds me of Cave Story, but smaller. And with leveling. Had to subtract 1 due to the various freezing bugs though.

Now, to get the Heart Breaker achievement you'll need all the skills (except, of course, radar). The trick is to abuse the invuln period given to you when you hit a wall with dash. When the nightmare uses Magic, dashjump to the opposite side of the area. You'll hit the wall, get stunned, and be invulnerable. With Hardy, that should last long enough for the nightmare to get hit by a meteor. Then just dodge his attacks, regenerate what life you lost, and repeat. I'm just about to put a video up on youtube of me doing it, search for "Level Up Heart Breaker".
