I agree with Muna

Way too much time put into graphics. The controls were sluggish and poorly placed, stage weapons were basically "Miss and be screwed forever" attacks intead of what they should have been (powerful weapons based on where you are), the boss music was so horrible oh my god, and the game overall had no ingenuity whatsoever beyond the textbook story. Next time I would DEFINATELY have somebody else write the game while you stick to what you're good at: graphics. There's a reason games have teams for each aspect.

Mediocre through and through

What do you know, another game on Newgrounds that goes by the mantra "As long as the graphics are good enough it doesn't matter if the game is the worst thing on earth". The controls were hellishly sluggish, the framerate was like 8 even on my 3.6 GHz P4, the entire idea is basically mario (collecting coins, jumping on enemies, and using short-range projectiles)...Really the only acceptable aspect of this game is the graphics. Hire somebody to do the programming for you, because your forte is graphics and only graphics.

Not bad, but flawed

For one, I beat it with a perfect score on my first try. I've always been better at Rhythm Games than the average person, but still. It should be plausible to get a perfect score (unlike most rhythm games), but slightly more difficult.

Also, I submitted my score and my name never showed up.

Besides that, though, quality game.

The sycophant's guide to NG

The entire FAQ is basically saying "Get a few friends to abuse the voting system, kiss as much ass as humanly possible, and go after newbies and black sheep to get undeserved whistle/blam points." As somebody who REALLY despises brown-nosing and selfishness, this guide basically idolizes that behavior that makes NG the gross hive-mind that it's become in the past few years.

highwatermark responds:

Well, the ass-kissing isn't recorded, but your awards are.

Sub-par

Okay, so you can prerender. That doesn't mean you have to make a repetitive game. I will say one thing though: I have no idea what all these morons are talking about when they say "OMG I HADE TO ZOOM IN 1000000000000X AND HIT HIM IN THE PREFRONTAL CORTEX OR ELS HE WOULDN DIE >:(((((((". Almost all of my kills were from body shots. Two hits in the body with the pistol or one from anything else = dead. This isn't Virtua Cop, people don't just die from one bullet in the hand.

Not bad

It is fun to play, and I would say is an improvement over the original, but it really is just Geometry Wars: Retro Advanced but worse.

Needs tweaking badly

While I admittedly had fun playing this game, there are some parts that desperately need changing. The most obvious one is enemy randomization. Using the exact same character, you can get anywhere from the end of the game to one fight in depending on how strong the game decides to make the enemies. Make your chances of winning less luck-based (this game is almost 100% luck as-is) and more skill-based. Change the combat system a LITTLE bit to make it more interactive, maybe add spells or ranged attacks, and make it so you can CHOOSE between several different opponents before entering the arena, with different "bounties" depending on how hard they are. It's my belief that such changes would really make this game a hall-of-famer.

A solid game with many flaws

Graphics: Not bad. Not bad at all. The lines were smooth, the color was coloriffic, and the scenery was...nice.

Style: Though it's not exactly a breakthrough in modern gaming, this is the first flash version of "Where's Waldo Extreme" I've seen.

Sound: Here's where a large problem lies. It's not that the sounds themselves were bad...it's that they were all lifted from other flashes and the second two songs didn't loop. At all.

Interactivity: Normally I wouldn't comment on this because...well, obvious reasons. However, there are two very big problems in this realm. The first is that my clicks seemed unresponsive. I had to click many things several times before they would register. The second problem is that if there were two people, one beneath the other, and you clicked the bottom one's head...oops, you clicked the top one.

Humor: The medicine part is a unique yet creepy twist on the timer.

Overall: Definately worth playing, but the many bugs/flaws took some of the fun out of it.

Very nice, a breath of fresh air

Graphics: While not on par with the top 50 flashes, Graphics hardly make a game in the experienced critic's eyes. They were cutesy, with no real flaws except being overly cartoony.

Style: Inspiringly original, with quite a few things to do. The phone was a very nice touch, adding spontaniety to the game.

Sound: The voice acting could have used a bit of work, and there was absolutely no music. The sounds were fitting, but next time try to add music, at least to the minigames. -1

Humor: Not exactly funny. Some of it gave mild chuckles, but all in all it simply wasn't a laugh riot. For an added bonus you should have called it "The Constant Lardener". -1

Overall: A very well made game that was definately worth my time. While I don't think a 3 gives it justice, I must stick with my principles. I look forward to more of the same!

Good, but #1 good?

Graphics: I've never liked that drawing style, but the graphics are definately far above average. The problem? They seem to be the main redeeming quality this game has.

Style: Boring. Two buttons? I admit, finding out the combo moves was fun, but where's the jump? Where are the weapons? After a few minutes, this game ends up being the same thing over and over. -1 point.

Sound: The sound was good. The music I found fitting and original, but hearing "Smack 1" and "Smack 2" got a little overbearing.

Humor: The humor was rather lacking, as I find beating up children to be unfunny. I'm not against it, I just don't prefer it in my stand-up. -1 point.

Overall: A good, fun game that people can play for fun. While definately not worthy of the top 5, I would not be suprised if this game made it to at least the top 20 had an admin not made it.
